When you ain’t got a sale….

You ain’t got Nuthin’ . This comment with a fist pounding on the table got our attention at a management meeting that I attended many years ago. Our foreign born owner was mighty annoyed at the management teams’  finger pointing and blaming. You know same old stuff. It was productions’ fault , no it was the shipping department, perhaps sales was at fault , blah,  blah, blah. He got our attention and rightfully so. You see we all need to get out of the “blame game” and get out there and sell something, make it happen,by golly.  Prospects and customers don’t care at all about our internal company squabbles and finger pointing. they want what they want and that’s it. Soooo, if you find yourself in a similar quandary, or hanging around the office shuffling papers….GET OUT there and SELL. 🙂


Fear of Rejection can hold you back

Many business professionals are stuck at a level due to FEAR, Roadblocks, Speed Bumps, or Head Trash.  The good news is that this need not be the case.  We let the “voices in our heads” keep us from going out and promoting our business. Zig Ziglar . motivational speaker, says FEAR is really False Evidence Appearing Real.  Get the training , practices your pitch, prepare for objections and get out there and do it. If someone says no, remember they are rejecting your offer not rejecting you.

$elling Strategies for Non Sales Professionals

Yesterday I conducted a 1 1/2 hour workshop on this topic. My content is based on my business experience and on my book of the same title (see www.lulu.com).  There were 20 attendees who came at 7:30 AM to be a part of the workshop.  Most of them admitted that their business on a scale of 1 (low) to 10 (high) was no greater than a 5 when it came to business development. Most of them had read the books , some had taken courses, but most of them were reluctant business developers. They know what to do ,but just don’t do it.  I had them do some exercises that are designed to help them to discover what their “road block” or “speed bump” was that is preventing them from promoting their business face to face Vs. running expensive ads, and investing in expensive brochures, etc.  Many of them experienced what I call an “AHA”. Their lights when on as to what was psychologically holding them back.    >>>>What is your speed bump??  What is holding you back from reaching your goals?
